    “I have always been passionate by fitness and the human movement. So much that I decided to study kinesiology in university. I really thought I could learn everything from my books until I discovered CrossFit at RCFYUL. There is so much I don’t know and so much to learn still. After a quick chat with Mike, I registered to my first CrossFit seminar, the Level 1. It was mind-blowing. Since then I have not looked back. I truly believe that we use the best method, CrossFit, to improve people’s fitness and general health.

    There are no better reward to know that somebody has improved in his/her life because of what I do everyday. This is why I wake up for every morning.

    On the side of that, I love to compete in CrossFit. The power and the drive a competition gives me is incredible. I do it for myself and to inspire all the athletes I coach.

    Being active has always been a part of my life. I’ve done everything from “conventional training” at a gym to hot yoga, to basketball and hockey. Movement is part of my everyday lifestyle. There is not a day that goes by where i’m not being active in some way.

    During a brief stay in San Francisco, i came across a crossfit gym. I inquired and did my first trial class. It was very simple but affective, nothing but rowing, squats, pushups, an pullups. I signed up the same day and never looked back! I fell in love with the functionality and the intensity of the workouts. But the community is what brought it all together. I found it so uplifting and very motivating to be part of something so special. After 3 years of being a crossfit athlete I wanted to inspire others to do the same, just like i was, so i registered and attended my first crossfit seminar which was the level 1.

    After a long search i discovered Reebok Crossfit YUL. It was the perfect match, the knowledge, dedication, community, and the desire to help others, it was all there.

    Its not only about PR’s and fast times. We are in the business of helping people better their lives. Crossfit has changed my life and i hope to be helping others do the same.

    My background specialty is in the area of Pilates, exercises which teaches strengthening from the inside out. Smaller muscle groups are focused on in order to assist the larger ones which love to take over. This can sometimes be the cause of injuries. I love to look at posture and how I can help correct it so that you can live a comfortable life with good body awareness. One of the major reasons for back pain is poor postural structure. I am a huge fan of CrossFit as I love the complexity, intensity and challenge. It goes with my type of personality. One who enjoys change and tackles desired goals. A gymnast in my youth and aerobics instructor for 25+ years; my love of the fitness industry has gone from simple to complex as I now also have a love for olympic and power lifting. I enjoy being a part of someone’s fitness/health journey. It is both gratifying and satisfying as a coach when we see people accomplishing things they might have never thought they could do. With our full attention and care we can help and support you on whatever it is you want and are looking to get from our facility.

    Coach Mira’s Advice

    Are you a physically useful human?
    I want to think that everyone would answer “yes” or at least say “no but I want to be”. I have seen and continue to see such deficiencies in the human body, especially the younger generation which is always alarming. The reality is that the majority of the population are de-conditioned. You do NOT want to be part of those statistics.

    It’s not rocket science, get off the couch…

    • Eat nutrient rich food.
    • Do weight bearing exercises to keep your bones strong and healthy.
    • Get your heart rate up to maintain endurance and stamina for healthy lungs and heart.
    • Work on your mobility: stretch often, take or do yoga regularly… Back bends, splits, side bending, etc…
    • Get some fresh air and drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water daily.
